Thoughts?

A bit watered down EO game with Persona characters.
Better gameplay than the mainline games.
Great soundtrack as usual.

It's my favourite SMT/Persona game, but no one will agree with me.
Characters are "watered down" a little, which is not even an issue considering the fact that it's a spin off (Of a spinoff if you count SMT) and a double crossover. Think those silly jokes you always hear, like Door-kun being a door. That's the style of humour.

Dungeons are far superior to anything in Persona, and the puzzles aren't one off gimmick tutorials for once.

Soundtrack is easily on the same level as the rest of the series, with a special guest track from the EO guy that is amazing.
Story's the same quality as the rest too.

Tl;dr It's a fun game that's hated far too much for stupid reasons.

I enjoyed my time with it. The only things I didn't like are the balancing is horrible and the lack of postgame content.

It's too good man. Neat little cameo event with an actual crossover with the EO world too, though it's basically just a little nod to the other series.

I couldn't say for certain, but it does sound like it. It's mostly either Meguro-like tracks or remixes of older Persona tracks.
If it is 50/50, that EO guy is even more amazing than I thought.

A lot of fun the first time around. Loses replayability fast once you beat it though.
Overall I enjoyed it.

Meguro only did Maze of Life, every other track was Kitajoh or Konishi. Except the final boss theme, which was done by the EO composer.

Q2 of what year?

I just wanna say that the way they got the chorus of the battle theme to line up with about when you're done inputting commands and the animations play was excellent. I wish more games would pay attention to details like that.

That depends how much you care for gameplay over story. Because it's a cross-over between two very story heavy games. And while the story of Q itself is more or less standalone (aside from the setting it takes place in), all the main characters are from the mainline games, so it really expects you to have played both.

I hadn't played P4 when I started Q, but for a crossover game between the two games it didn't have much that was hard to understand. You might miss a few like Ace Detective jokes and the implications of the ending, but it's perfectly enjoyable still.

The story's "technically" connected, but very loosely. It's basically the story of the two new characters and the FRIENDSHIP they form with the two casts.
