What do you recommend for decoration?

Currently going through Thorium + Calamity, post moon lord stuff is nuts and ranged is as OP as ever.

I started playing it recently, after autistically engineering perfect crimson and corruption maps
now I'm waiting for the slime rain to show up, I won't progress until then

What is it with people like that? The worst are people who pretend they haven't done it though. Where did you get that item? They just gloss over the question and keep going.

Me and my friends get an ARK server every few months after updates have stacked up. I normally get it, but this time someone else did. They were constantly getting items they simply couldn't have gotten if not for spawning it in, taming things surprising fast (definitely not force tame, no) and shit like that.

Fuck, really enrages me more than it should.

So I did a melee playthrough for my first time. What should I do next? Also is Summoner really as bad as people let on or are they just stubborn and sticking exclusively to Summon damage? Like when I was doing Melee I always had a pet doing shit for me on the side for extra damage.

Modded bosses. Cataclysm is a mod that adds in a lot of bosses, including eight post-ML ones. I mean four of them are technically mini-bosses. Cataclysm is fucking crazy.

There are no "builds" in Terraria. It all comes down to having best items you can get. In the end there are four sets, melee is slightly better than others, but they serve different purposes anyway.

I had fun with a friend playing the game pre-hard mode.

Now hard mode is here. We are undergeared, no idea what to mine anymore and lost interest in the game.

Which is a shame because we really enjoyed it while it lasted.

Try with friends, but I think it's best played solo. Friends slow you down. They steal your items. They die like idiots. They only care about progress, wanting to kill Moon Lord as quickly as possible. They have bad sense of design. They cannot into playing with restrictions, such as not using broadswords, torches, jump items or minimap.

No, you are a good and brave player if you chose Expert Mode for your first playthrough. Bosses are really hard, because they ignore most of your armor and you have to be really good at game to progress.
Maybe, try normal mode first?

Yes. However, it greatly helps if I choose forested area for my buildings - I cut them down with no remorse.

farm hallowed mimic for daedalus stormbow, use holy arrows, deck yourself out in hallowed shit. Get better gear before that, either via fishing or go mine for titanium. Also build aboveground, wraiths will eat your NPCs alive.

Overgear if you can't beat him, mongrel. He's perfectly beatable with potion prep and beenades, though. Also, make fucking use of that EoC shield and your boots, you can fly/dash circles around him.

Harder than expert WoF and expert Destroyer imho. Build a long ass wooden platform with another one 16 tiles above it, with heart lamps, campfires and a honey pit somewhere.

Get at least ironskin, regeneration and swift potions to start the fight. Kill the hands first because the head is almost inmune until you destroy his hands. The most important thing to dodge is his head: when he starts charging like fuck, quickly hook to the upper platform (or drop down if you are above) dash to one side with shield of chuchulu and run along shooting until he stops charging.

Weapons: Beenade, Bee's Knees, Space Gun with Meteor Armor or a shit ton of mana potions. If you are melee you need Molten armor and a decent yoyo or thorn chakram I dunno.

Is the spread of corruption/hallow something I really need to plan for? I'm worried about it, but it seems like a major pain to have to quarantine the whole affected area.

You can kite him with those speed/rocket shoes and running/flying like a giant figure 8. Clear a big flat surface in front of the dungeon so you have space to move. Plant those heart regen things around the arena

i'm talking like several years, before hardmode even existed and skeletron was the final boss
all i can think of is that those articles haven't been updated in eons (or they're referring to mana potions, which don't have cooldowns)
