This is a TERRARIA board

>not making an underground base in an ocean planet
it's like you are not even trying
Is the plural form "Novakid" or "Novakids"?And are they of consenting age?
all these major updates and yet the game is so shallow
somebody fucking save starbound, i know it has the potential to become one of the greatest sandbox games ever
>>386124317
nova "kid" is just the name of their race
so yeah they have conseting age
speaking of thatpost some floran porn

Playing this game at launch was such a disappointment after getting blueballed for so long.
>>386124790
Still is.
Wait ppl actually play this game? Got 5 hours in it and beyond fucking bored with it, is it actually fun somehow?
>>386124856
There's at least a FEW nice things about it, it can still be a pretty cozy atmospheric exploration game, and using the climbing ropes for getting around is incredibly satisfying.
But yeah, you're right, after all this time this game has fuck all going for it
>>386123757
fuck off chucklefuck shills nobody likes your shit game
>>386124926
To be frank i kinda liked the mech wreck salvation meme
For the first 30 minutes or so.
>>386124926
>and using the climbing ropes for getting around is incredibly satisfying.
Jesus Christ, this.
My friends who got me into the game constantly shill the triple jump and spider ball - fuck that, grappling hook all day every day. It's like old-school Worms all over again.
>>386125740
Not the grappling hook though, the grappling gun thing feels like shit to use at launch because the rope was so elastic you'd splatter against the floor, and nowadays it feels like shit to use because it just fires a stiff rope out.
The climbing ropes, the ones you make with vines, that's the real shit right there.

I thought that this was going to be THE sandbox game akin to Terraria for the first two hours.
Afterwards was like getting slapped repeatedly by an erect raging penis. I still remember /sbg/ where everyone would bash on the game, and post updates about Chucklefish and Tiy's faggotory.
>>386126142
I was there for the whole ride, what a miserable fucking trip it was too. There were a few cool drawfriends along the way and a few faggots, and it was fun watching chucklefuck squirm in panic, but the whole thing left me with a new sense of wariness about shithead indie devs.
Remember the big youtube reveal when they let the yogscast blunder through it?

Reminder that Tiy won and got away with EVERYTHING.
Starbound was a commercial success and still maintains an active player base of 3k - 6k players. Tiy basically got Starbound developed for free by scamming freelance programmers and artists, and then firing most of his core team by abruptly moving his operation to London before paying anyone. Everyone who legally owns Risk of Rain or Stardew Valley is directly responsible for putting money into his pockets. In addition, normies think Chucklefish actually created Stardew Valley because they associate it with Starbound because of the name similarities. He also blatantly ripped off Advance Wars for an upcoming game, but rather than get shut down by Nintendo he took it right to them and got it approved for a Switch release.
Mark my words, he's going to pull a Griffith and sacrifice his company and screw over all his employees for a job at NoA.
I remember playing this game in 2013 on my shitty laptop. I thought it was a pretty alright game that had great potential. Has it really not improved over the past 4 years? Is it even worth getting at this point?
>>386127810
with the first patch they fucked up the combat scaling system and never fixed it.
Combat is still worse than it was at launch. But you can make apartment blocks and rent it out to tenants for small amounts of money and random items.
>>386127810
No and no.
>>386123757
Only thing the game did well was to make it so you could play sheet-music files in it.
>>386127924
>>386127929
Damn, what a shame. You guys know any other space sandbox kind of games? Preferably one that lets me have a spaceship.
>>386128051
Space Station 13, if you're devious enough.
>>386128051
warframe? kind of?its also pretty much shit
>>386127443
What do Stardew Valley or Risk of Rain have to do with this?
>>386128051
The only space sandbox game that lets you have a legit ship is Space Engineers.
>>386128148
Buying anything published by Chucklefish puts money into Tiy's pockets.
>>386128051
Space Engineers
FTL is not a sandbox game, but it lets you control a crew in a spaceship if that's what you want at least
>>386128238
I'm not going to not buy a great game like RoR and support Hopoo just because a shit person will get some of the money. If I did that I would never buy anything.
>>386128175
>>386128309
>Multiplayer unplayable
>In solo your the only person in the entire game, everything else is drones.
>>386126264
>drawfriends
I'm sad I missed the boat on that one.Now I have to go pay someone for my lewds.
