Visiting the Hanging Crypts was a mildly religious experience.

Troubled and unpolished game, but also the best piece of storytelling and story probably ever featured in a videogame.
There is a remake in the works, it even has a sort-of-a-demo-alpha-build-prototype-thing free on Steam under the name Marble Nest, if you want to check it out.

Everything about Long Night of Solace is so good. In one mission you go from storming a planet surface launch base to launching in real time and then getting into dogfights to defend a home station before then following a frigate into combat with another frigate so you can capture the latter by storming it and then using it to trojan horse a nigger-rigged hyperspace bomb into the enemy super-carrier under the guise of a refueling run.
