The dynamo roller has to be one of the most finnicky weapons I've used. I feel like I have to point my character to the floor to kill shit that's right in front of me. And the stages are just filled with obstacles at every turn that prevent you from being able to actually shoot out a full torrent of the roller.

Use ink recovery, don't find me thingie, and bomb defense because everyone throws bombs at you when you use a charger. Then play differently, never play too close to the enemy or take bad risks. Approach them from a distance and splat them enough times to think twice before crossing your path. You want to reach the level where they think you're a pain in the ass and avoid you. Once that happens they become even easier targets because you can start hunting them down. Remember you always kill enemies before they can possibly kill you so chargers is one of the best weapons in the game. Only problem I have so far are those ninja squids that hide, if you don't know where they are you can't kill them.

I feel this too, but I mostly figured I was worse at aiming than I thought I was, and attributed missing to the low rate of fire meaning my aim was wavering whenever a shot was actually coming out.

I really, really can't stand the curling bomb special, what a dumb special that only fucks over short ranged weapons.

On that thought, pretty much every single special is good vs short ranged characters except for the fucking sting ray, which is the worst special. Why do the devs hate the rollers so much?

Well, I'm pretty sure the loser does get consolation snails anyway. In the first game it was the only way to get them, and your options to get them outside of splatfests in this game are pretty limited. It would be pretty dumb if you never got a single snail because you had such bad luck that you always picked the losing side.

Jet squelcher, splattershot. Dualies are my favorite weapon type but I find them to be a bit gimmicky so I don't use them all the time, especially not on TC.
Was doing pretty well with the dapple dualies in S splat zones though. The beacons are great on such a weapon.

I like how the specials are nerfed because in the first game instead of actually fighting in the splatzone you'd rather go away for a moment to farm the special meter since the inkstrike would hit that spot regardless, meanwhile the new missiles still hurt and are annoying as fuck, but you can try to deflect them.

The stingray is absolute garbage though, it has no excuse, the damage output and range make it even worse than using your normal weapons which is very dumb.
Anytime an opponent tries to use it I laugh because I can easily avoid it and kill him because he can't do anything else.

Krak-on is still the best, in my opinion. And yeah, they nerfed them a bit but honestly once you get used to using the flick, dualies become less of a problem. It's a bit of a learning curve but trust me, it's not as bad as it seems.
