Hi there! (`・ω・´)”
I am really interested in study game developement, so i chose this college in Japan : https://www.hal.ac.jp/english
because they cooperate with Nintendo-my favourite company, when i want to work(if i will go to big company, but now i am indie).

OP, all you need to know is already on the internet, you don't need a college degree to become a developer.
I mean, it can help if the program is somewhat based on industry standards, and you study with motivated people, but it's not necessary.
Develop a specific, tangible skill. Learn how to program or make art assets. There is no such thing as "game developer" or "game designer" positions in the industry. You NEED to have specific skills that make you employable.

wait, are you Japanese? Every part of your idea is terrible if you're not Japanese already living in Japan. If you're Japanese go ask 2ch or whatever.

Seriously this is some autistic weeb shit.

I'm not even talking about "gamedev" classes, which is an entirely separate thing to be skeptical about. Not to mention Japan is sort of joke when it comes to software development.

I know you think working and living in Japan is going to be fun but its far from it. You'll probably reach the point of trying to kill yourself.

You work 60+ hours a week and if you are way pass deadline you'll be working on the weekend.

You are gonna get home late everyday, sleep for maybe 3-4hrs before you have to get up for work again. You live in a tiny cramped apartment that's old, rent is expensive, there are no parks. You can't afford to eat meat or normal sized food ever unless you get bonus pay or someone shouts you for your birthday.

Everyone treats you like shit because you're a gaijin and you can't make any friends outside of work because no time for anything, even games.

Do you want to give up everything because you thought living in Japan was cool and kawaii anime dream land?

>>386119391

>>386119391
This guys is correct. Kawaii anime dream land are filled with blood and guts.

The best way to get into Japan gaming scene is to work on a western game company first. Small western indie companies won't do you'll need big name publisher; easiest to get in is Ubisoft. Once you gained a few years of experiences and contacts, only then you can squeeze your way in for a middle management position for Japanese games companies thats looking for western markets (e.g. Namco, Capcom, Square etc.). Japanese middle positions are much less taxing than entry level; the difference is almost like night and day.

Gaijin usually aren't required to put up with japanese hours, because employers know that westerners don't put up with that shit and somebody breaking the silent agreement and reporting unlawful practices would get them in hot water.
The problem is GETTING a job, but once you have that living, healthcare and transportation is taken care off.

I've been considering the chinkland one of my work options because it's the second relevant video game market in the world, and according to my friend who's been there for a decade it's apparently not as shitty as the internet memes want me to believe and getting a job is easy
I also like that their job postings usually don't have retarded catch22 requirements such as "u need to have X years of experience first xd"
>>
>>386123234
It's not really bad, just avoid entry level positions.
Recently they have become less traditional where you don't need to start from the bottom to move up in the company.
>>
>>386123234
Vidya Development is a shitshow no matter the country, so there's not really any space for difference between west and jp there.
