I probably liked the first better, just because the pacing is breakneck and it's borderline arcadey. Spyro just isn't as fun when translated to a more traditional, almost generic model, it's at its best when you're pulling off retarded boost stacking to somersault your way around.

But it's fine. I liked all of them. Even the third, and that reboot with Elijah Wood which just had terrific art direction and ambience.
>>
I love the first game the most. It is the most simple, no gimmicks, best music, best atmosphere. Will say the bosses aren't really all that though. 2 is great as well. 3 is nice, love it too, but it just has too many gimmicks for my taste.
>>
I liked the 3rd one better honestly. I didn't like how the Talismans were pretty much useless.

These games were such shit, holy fuck. Small shitty worlds with terrible platforming and combat. I remember getting this as a kid and thinking it was "okay", and a year later I got an N64 and a copy of Banjo-Kazooie and realized how fucking terrible this series is.
>>
>>386111892
2 was my personal favorite but i like almost as much.

never was a big fan of one.
>>
REMASTER WHEN?
>>
>>386114046
Really? Banjo Kazooie? I mean sure, if it was SM64 or something that's not literally for kids like F-Zero, sure, but Banjo? That's like a lateral step at most.
>>
I replayed all 3 like two years ago. They hold up well.
>>
>>386114046

>combat

Now you reminded me, why did these games have to get rebooted as beat-em-ups? Crash did it too. What the fuck was up with that.
>>
>>386114691
Because it was popular at the time and they wanted to sell games.

>add the hover and boss styles from 2 and 3

I would love this so much.

Always found this to be remarkably dark compared to the usual chill music in the rest of the series.

What are some good tracks from these games? I'm about to start the third game, probably not muted this time

Why in the balls would you do that?
>>
>>386116510

Why did you play them muted? These games are known for their God-like soundtracks, especially 1.
>>
I can't get into 3 and I don't know why. It's either the minigames or the generally bland levels (Like Ice level and slightly different ice level)
>>
>>386116510
>played them both completely muted
Huh.

Why.
>>
>>386116692
I agree with that, frankly, its a good game, but 1 and 2 are just somehow better
>>
>>386114476
Banjo has a lot more heart, it makes the characters feel like close friends and the comedy and jokes make you happy, the music is memorable, controls are better level design always steers you into a happy time, there's no comparison, Spyro is such a shallow feeling game, copmleting the game 107% or whatever it is at the end really made me learn to hate how souless the west could be even when trying to put it's best foot forward and why Japanese stuff ended up pulling me in as much as it did, Banjo is like the only exception.

I don't really know, I was just kind of playing them, it was a lot of fun, I enjoyed the variety of 2 a bit more than 1, I was jamming to Collossus before I muted 2

>>
Kinda bugs me how many people don't like the 3rd one for its minigames yet every single fucking objective in Spyro 2 are minigames.
At least Spyro 3 has a decent balance between the minigames and discovering things yourself.
>>
>>386116943
Finished recently Spyro 2 on 100%. Now tell my /v/, what ur fav location/orb challenge.
Mine are mythical swamp/badlands. And all the rollercoaster challenges. Absolutely worst are volcano and that grab-crystal challenge with hunter.
>>
>>386114476
This comment completely confuses me. Like, I enjoyed Spyro, but Banjo dominates the genre of adventure platforming and has some of the best level design in all gaming. I also have no idea why you'd consider either Spyro or Mario 64 to be more mature or difficult than Banjo. I mean what challenges do either games even offer that are as hard as Gruntilda?
>>
Banjo felt like something special needs kids would play.
>>
>have been playing these games for almost 20 years
>only just discovered that Glimmer has an outro movie
>>
>>386117714
In your defense, the circumstances to watch it are rather specific. That and Glimmer can be 100% the first visit with the help of the glitch double jump, so you don't even need to go back.
>>
3. I loved that fuckin guy with the guns as a kid. Also the kangaroo was fun.

I'm a equally a massive fan of both Banjo and Spyro. I don't need to explain why I love Banjo because you've already done that for me.
The reason why I also love Spyro also is because it's fast, has consistently paced level design and addictive gem collecting (seriously, collecting hundereds of gems being drawn toward you with that satisfying *whish* noise is freaking satisfying.)
Banjo is about the exploration and taking your time looking around and discovering items and new moves. Spyro is more about getting from one place to the next without many boundaries getting in your way and just burning and collecting lots of things as you do it. Spyro is probably a bit more mindless than Banjo; doesn't make it any less fun for me. Spyro is definitely a lot faster than Banjo, which makes exploring less of a chore.
As far as atmosphere goes, Banjo is funnier and more wacky and unpredictable than Spyro, wheras Spyro has a more sophisticated artstyle and more mellow tone compared to Banjo. It's kinda like Loony Tunes vs Silly Symphonies, know what I mean?

They're both fantastic games that do things in their own way in the end.

>>
>>386117252
Banjo doesn't have better level design at all. Worlds were large and empty and banjo moved around them slowly. I can't even remember spyro having smaller levels, they are more compact definitely but the overall size, I'd have to see a comparison. Have big empty areas isn't better.
