I know a few people who couldn't get into P5, because they said they will never play something as good as P4 ever again.
I enjoyed both, although I must say P4 has better characters with far more chemistry between them.
The Phantom Thieves are all like "let's take those r*tten adults' hearts!" and everyone agrees "yeah!", and that's the end of it. The Investigation Team has more banter and other events between them and feel more alive.

And P5 is still recent enough that if enough people make their desire for a FeMC known, Atlus might take it to heart. In P3P's case I feel like the FeMC was more of a "what if" thing, and I can kind of understand why they didn't expand on her past that since P3/P4 is now this huge extended universe in itself. I'd want to see Hifumi as a party member, retooled Mementos, some kind of proper optional end game dungeon that doesn't suck, and a FeMC option.

Although all of that shit is completely tertiary, the main problem with the game is the story and characters. In an ideal world they'd rewrite huge portions of it to give the main characters a better motivation and fix the idiotic twists at the end.

In the world of Persona aside from demons/personas there exist two greater power of order and chaos, Philemon and Nyarlathotep. The two constantly fuck with humanity, most the latter. And one time he succeeds in fucking up the world, despite the meddling teenagers beating his ass.
Philemon then offers to create a new world when the events of the game never happened and haven't lead to the end of the world. But in exchange for the protagonists' memories. Which they accept.

But in the second part of the game, the MC of the first part remembers his past life, and in turn shit starts to go down in the new universe as well. In the end they kick the big bad's ass yet again, this time for good. But the MC of the previous game can't be staying in the new universe, because he has the forbidden memories of the other side. By existing in this universe he dooms it to the same fate. So his consciousness gets send back to the original universe, leaving his alternative clueless self in the new one.

Here's something that will never likely happen.

Remove the safe rooms on the day after the calling card have been sent. Maybe just leave one save spot right before the boss fight if you must.

I feel like the idea of making it to the treasure on the last day via an actual secured route was canned right after they made Kamoshida's castle. They implemented the idea of short cuts being used to traverse the dungeon but then never seen again after the first dungeon and the implementation of teleporting safe rooms. Plus the whole security system percentage being raised up to 99% would make sense if you actually have a risk factor this time when going pass the guards.

Very little. Expand the story so the characters, specifically the female cast members, don't have to fight over the spotlight so much. Make Ann relevant after Madarame's palace, make Makoto relevant after Futaba's palace, make Futaba relevant outside of being the "hacker" and make Haru relevant beyond her brief moment of importance in Okumura's palace.

In fact, totally redo everything with Haru. Introduce her way earlier on the rooftop of the school, have her suspect the PT's on her own and seek them out after she gets her powers and begins suspecting her father is doing evil. Cut out the retarded "Morgana flips a tit and runs away" arc.

Outside of that I'd just like some quality of life changes. Make it so that you can fast-travel through palaces immediately on NG+ because they're agonizing on repeat playthroughs.

The only real long non-story event was the school trip, but even then all you guys talk about are phantom thieves shit with setup for Okamura + 1 actual scene with a girl(you might not have much options here anyway).
