Game is fun and worth playing.
Go for PS4 or PC though if you can. They include DLC and look and run nicer than PS3. Also better load times on them too. Nothing wrong with the PS3 version if that's what you got though.
If price is a concern then the PC version routinely hits $5 during sales.

The vanilla game doesn't have sniper or tank interception fire. If you've never played it before then just the added sniper and tank interception fire the rebalance mod adds will frustrate the shit out of you. It also changes up enemy placement and increases interception fire damage to you by about 2x on top of that.

This depends, if you dominate with scouts it's kind of skirting around the intentions of the game and within the rules you're setting for yourself almost every other class is crap, but if you imagine a first time player not looking at guides and trying to form a relatively diverse team, that is who the game is balanced around.

Scouts become broken later in the game but people overstate that because they're retards who think first time players will have leveled up scouts with grenade launchers and Alicia's OP abilities, all of the orders and an understanding of their uses, and know the layouts and enemy locations of each map. Without pretty much all of these factors, you're probably looking at a permadead scout.
