Read up on it, or watch a movie on the format, unlike DVDs and BDs, HD-DVDs are no bullshit, insert and start the movie. No previews, protection logos, or 3minutes of unskippable bullshit.

Fun fact: HD-DVD is literally the exact same thing as BluRay. It's the exact same optical technology and they used the exact same codecs. The differences are merely in the way the data is formatted and some inconsequential aspects of the specifications. BluRay had a slightly higher data density on launch but there was nothing preventing HD-DVD from upping their data density if they ever felt the need to, it was lower because it wasn't necessary to be so high to store HD movie data and it increased the manufacturing costs. Absolutely nothing about BluRay was technically superior to HD-DVD.

I had all 3 home consoles last gen and it was my joint favorite alongside the Wii. Wii60 was the fucking shit back then. The ps3 sucked in general from its lacklustre game library to its absolute dogshit os. It's been reduced to a bluray player for the last 3 years in my house yet i still play the 360 and Wii regularly.
