I think Monolith soft has two teams, for example I think one team was already starting work on 2 when X was in development and a team was helping Aonuma with BotW while 2 was in development, following that pattern I'm sure they have the manpower to have a team on Xenoblade 3 or X-2 and a team on Xenodogma or whatever that new game is now that BotW is out and Xenoblade 2 is nearly done.

PSP was an open whore and Vita had an small userbase and an even less future given all the Shit sony pulled on VITA on release
all consoles attempts to Monster Hunter were a flop, the best seller console was Tri on Wii.
3DS was capcom last chance at the time to make hits with Mon Hun. and it worked like fucking black magic.

I think MHWorld will not meet their expectations.
They said in their last briefing that they expect MvC:I and MHWorld to sell a combined 10 million units next year. MvC:I will sell well simply because it has Marvel but I don't see it doing as well as MvC 3 or Injustice due to the negative PR the game has gotten.


I don't think MH has more than 3 million potential players globally. The series is too niche, the gameplay isn't appealing to many outside of Japan and the art style turns off many people in the west.

I can see MH World selling around 1.5 million units, maybe a little more. I think it will do slightly better in the west, but worse in Japan. MH has never done well on consoles, it didn't even do that well on the Wii.

If MH World has a huge budget and fails to make much money, I can see Capcom going back to portable titles with smaller budgets.

I play heaps of shit on my 3DS, just like I played heaps of shit on my PSP.

There's not even that much difference in genre between the two, they both have solid RPGs, a harvest moon(I really liked the future harvest moon on PSP, whatever it was called) and tactics RPGs (fire emblem, tactics ogre).

Nintendo bent over backwards to get Capcom on their side, they provided unprecedented support in terms of worldwide distribution and marketing and all Capcom had to do was develop the games. Remember that MH3U and MH4 were announced before the Vita even came out, so nothing about the Nintendo/Capcom partnership was a reaction to the Vita's failure.
