What you're talking about seems to be more of a 90s teen. When people say "90s kid", they mean someone who spent their prime childhood (6-12) in the 90s. 90s kids were born from about 1983 to 1993, imo.

That being said, the Japanese dub IS objectively better, because the English makes Yuna sound like a whiny hopeless idiot while in the original she sounds like a determined girl that has it hard but will see it trough for the good of her friends and everyone else.
