You know how in Demon's Souls you found the Moonlight Sword, Istarelle and Dragonbone smasher weapons in the ground and your character interacts with it to pull it out like it's a legendary weapon?
Why did they stop that in all the sequels? Why do you only find mythical weapons as generic glowspots or from vendors now?
every souls game after demon's souls was just a bunch of steps backwards
demons souls did it right, bloodborne too. dark souls 1 it's just there as an easter egg and nothing more.
dark souls 2/3 are completely shit so pretend they don't exist.

A fair question, though not all weapons are glowspots or vendor items. Some are cut off from enemy tails.
The only real example of a weapon being pulled out of the ground like a dynamic object is drawing the twisted sword from Iudex Gundyr in III...which you immediately put back when you sheath it into the bonfire.
Moonlight Greatsword really should be given that treatment in the other games, unlike a Tail weapon you just trip over like in DaS1, a Boss weapon in 3, and an even more retarded boss weapon in 2. It's interesting that the weapon's appearance also corresponds to how interesting it is to get.
1 and 3 are equally average, and look the same. Bloodborne is incredible and also looks fucking mystical and awesome. Dark Souls 2 looks like a shitty blue popsicle in both the real AND fake, and is a chore to acquire from on of the worst bosses in the game.
The animations are still part of DS1's and DS3's animation sets, but not used.

From Software didn't single handedly create Demon's Souls, they were loaned Japan Studio programmers from Sony. Dark Souls lacked a level of polish found in Demon's Souls because From was on their own.

goddamm bloodborne looks like shit.

Zullie over at /dsg/ found that there are a shitton of animations for pulling out coiled swords that go unused, probably part of the 'sacrifice' mechanic that got cut, you were probably meant to get coiled swords to use from bosses or other means, but having to sit through the coiled sword animation each time was probably seen as boring and too limiting for boss intros.

>yfw the coiled sword could have been a reward for killing all the bonfires
>this could also be the true Dark ending
>instead of just not linking the flame, you've meticulously snuffed out every last source of flame you find in your travels

looks good but it's not the usual type of sword made of light
you can see the cosmos in bloodbornes, to fit with the lovecraft theme. it's a good rendition.

Because it was a very minor and unimportant thing that most people gave zero shits about?

Wrong.
>>386074838
It was pretty polished though. Certainly more so than DaS which was outright unfinished.
>b-but I read about a sixth archstone on the internet!!!
There are zero traces of any content associated with this in-game and all they ever made for it was a barren, empty map and a couple of enemy models.
