Haven't gotten to play too much today 'cause the servers have been pretty hit or miss about whether they let you connect. Such is life mid-beta release. Also hoping the fix they're coming out with for bots makes them more reasonable.

Other than that, I'm looking forward to learning the game and getting geared.

I don't know dayz but you basically load into a zone instance with a few other people depending on the size of the map with some being AI. You have to go through the map looking for loot from the enviroment or dead players. To finish the game you have to get to an extraction point on the map. Some have one or multiple. If you make it to extraction you get to keep all of your gear. If you die you lose everything unless it was insured in which case after a certain amount of time you will retrieve anything that was insured but not scavanged by other players. Sell your loot to AI traders who trade in real time so if someone sells an AK then an AK is up for sale and anyone else can buy it. Its in a beta but I think the end game is to have the maps not actually be maps but one gigantic map.

A lot of features aren't in like you can get and eat food but it does nothing but you can drink and die of thirst.

Any Beginner tips? How the fuck do I find the exits? I was literally wandering around on shoreline for 10 minutes trying to find a place to extract and I died.

just look up the maps online or if that is immersion breaking for you play in offline mode and walk around maps until you find them.

Look for millitary green boxes for the weapon parts and safes for high value loot. Other wise you'll find shit to medium loot like bolts or tools.

They have a radiation meter and items that remove radiation but its unused since their are no sources of radiation in yet. Its just a beta.

I mean you can form a group and you can play PvE mode. But in this beta the PvE mode is for testing only so its you against AI but you don't get to keep anything you loot or lose any ammo.

Its planned to have a story mode and the devs said they suggest you won't want to group to do the final parts of it because they may backstab you so it should be someone you trust.

Yea if you trade items for other items directly those individual items are traded for higher value than if you just sold them. Look at the hooded trader since he sells all of the things that other traders will trade for that isn't currency.

Tho the same guy that sells that gun restocks AK's for like 20k every once in a while but they sell fast. I think when he restocks he picks up a stack of 120. I bought 2 even tho I didn't have any clipazines or ammo to use it with because I saw the stack count go down by 5 every time I refreshed his inventory.

Nope. The game isn't really Stalker-like, but I'll try to compare the two anyway.

It's like if you took CoC, removed mutants, anomalies, artifacts, friendly NPCs, radiation (to be added later), connected areas to move between (can't remember if they're adding this), and then added a shit ton of misc. items and gun porn (think Gunslinger if you were allowed to also manually add/subtract individual components like barrels, muzzle attachments, etc.) with a menu that you extract to if you manage to make your way to the exfil location on the map. And then of course you have bugs and desync.

I haven't played the game a whole lot though. I've mostly just watched a couple streamers the last few months. Only got into beta today.
