I only played 1 and 2, but let me say this: it would have to take one HELL of a good game to beat out Warioland 2.

It was a serious GOAT contender for the GB/C (yes I understand the caliber of games that were on the GB/C).

Is warioland the only game series in history that never had a bad game?

4 would have to be my favorite, the levels are quality stuff and they are unique from eachother even within the same 'theme' the passages set up.

The length barely matters in these games because most platformers barely go past the 2 hour mark unless you fuck around a lot, then you might squeeze 3-4 hours out of them. Longest 2D platformer I can think of is yoshi's island.

Wario Land 2 is one of my favorite fucking games of all time by leaps and bounds. I fucking love that game so damn much

That's a bit misleading, they also picked it because for the sake of exploring game design, looking at a game that didn't garner critical acclaim helps demonstrate a lot of the principles. If you can look at the level design and mechanics of Wario Land 4 in-depth there's no reason you shouldn't be able to do the same for plenty of other games.

Literally only two tracks from Wario Land Shake It, both from the first (proper) level. Which is a shame, there's some damn good songs in WL4 and I hold a lot of fondness for WL2's leitmotifs and ending theme.
