It's easily Beth's worst game but I had a lot of fun exploring the commonwealth. Especially for the first in their history they made caves/dungeons/hideouts actually decent to explore.

I still believe most people who play RPGs don't even like them and this will forever be my proof. Never beat the game because my computer exploded before I could and when I went to replay earlier this year I found it didn't support my monitor. But I played enough to know that its good shit.

People hate Dragon Rising? I thought it was a great game and was surprised with how in depth it was considering it was built with consoles in mind. If it had been released today with mod support I could see it taking on ARMA. Only problem was the lack of FOV slider and the KB & Mouse controls felt awful. Had to play with a controller.

My main problem was Fallout 4 felt so soulless. They added all this stuff to the game like voice acting and graphics that don't look like shit in order to make the game seem higher budget but it made it so much worse. They killed perks, voice acting ruins the player character, and general role-playing has gone from pretty good / great to no fun allowed. I've put over 100 hours into the game on and off over the past 2 years and I always end up feeling dissapointed by the time I uninstall. But as an exploration game with gun porn mods I can understand the appeal.

Would I like Alpha Protocol even if I'm not very experienced with RPGs? There are very few spy espionage games so I've always been intrigued to play it, despite all of its apparent flaws.

Gameplay wise yes and no. The game isn't hard but it comes from the Mass Effect 1 and Deus Ex school of shooting in an RPG, which is, if you don't have 65 points into the skill of the gun you're using you wont hit shit. But the presentation eases it somewhat and makes it very approachable. If you're really, really into the spy theme it will carry you through the game. If you're unsure just pirate it and if you like it get it on sale. I got it for a dollar off humble bundle last summer. I don't even know if Obsidian gets money for the game anymore. Also hacking fucking sucks and you're expected to do it semi-frequently.

RE0 isn't a shit game explicitly so much as the worst classic RE. The train section is one of classic RE's all time highs but after that it's just a dodgier REmake with a shittier story, shittier item management, and less memorable enemy types. Still considerably better than RE5/6 by proxy of being a classic RE, though.

I have never seen a group of fans not understand and hate the source material they re supposed to love. MGS fans are so stupid the ask how Big Boss got the money for MSF and why there are holographic ipods in the 80s.

I loved every minute of playing this the first time, it just makes me sad because of the wasted potential. The tight controls and gameplay could have been built on in expansion packs/sequels to truly give us a GOAT. If they added things to make the open world more alive (random soldiers, encounters) and revamped the helicopter so that you could actually ride it short distances without having to go to the ACC it would have been better. An open city map with some interiors would have been really great too. FOBs also could have had more meaningful customization/added things to do.

Regardless of whether they did any of this in a future game it's a damn shame that we will never get another Metal Gear game like it.

Some of the OST is the beat Resident Evil has ever been though. It's clear to me they wanted Zero to emulate RE2 pretty hard in some ways. The dev team had a real boner for RE2 in design.
