What does /v/ think of my vidya game idea? Haven't even thought about the insane amount of hardwork it would take to actually make this project but here goes

>2 teams
>all have to fight over buildings using weapons they choose
>one player gets picked up and put into this gigantic machine hovering over a huge city
>all players are in sort of a purgatory state waiting for the player in the machine to make their decision
>they choose a building and the machine picks it up and slams it on to the ground, destroying half of it
>then the player roles a dice from 1-5
>the number they get is how many effects they can add to the building
>e.g anti-gravity, teleporters, reversed gravity, duplicate itself, float in the sky, etc
>players would have to use other buildings to climb on and fight against the players that have taken over the selected building
>the person in the machine is thrown off and slams the ground
>after they have captured the building for a certain number of time everybody is hauled into the purgatory state
>and one person gets to go into the machine again and the process repeats.
>you can use the other selected building to help conquer the new buildings.
>e.g if a building starts floating in the sky, but that building has already been conquered
>i can go on that building with a sniper and snipe people trying to conquer another building

In no particular order the MMOs I've enjoyed and why they suck;

WoW - Went from being EQ for casuals to facebook game 3D.
XIV - WoW for weebs, precisely zero innovations or improvements to its stale formula for two expansions now.
Wildstar - Best combat system, oh wait let's invalidate it all by making player power creep fucking insane, great housing though. Oh yeah it's ded.
LOTRO - Best vanilla WoW private server, too bad it's ded. Group play was its biggest strength so that's why they've released barely any new content that involves it.
Runescape - Play either in super retard P2W mode or 'you will never experience this game for the first time again' mode.
DDO - Holy fucking power creep. Also ded.
BDO - Combat is awful and crafting system is shit. Commerce and workshop management is OK but inability to get hands on in crafting kills it for me.
B&S - Great combat system with hands down the worst endgame of all. Limited chat system means it isn't even good for ERP.
TERA - Fun combat but endgame is a chore. New content and classes are for waifus only, because that's where they make their money.

star trekoonline's engine was built atop / out of the CoH engine, which in turn is built from an older engine. o it has an engine thats' about 11 yr's old now. and the game will run on pretty much any toaster you could imagine. no matter how shit it is.

plus the game is actually rather fun.
