I think the only reason they did it is to pad the game out a little more. If they didn't block you from doing any stat building activities or social links for half of every month I'm pretty sure everything could have been maxed out by the halfway point in the game. The end result though is reading dialogue and going to sleep to wake up and read more dialogue for 2 weeks out of every month. Really ruined the game for me.

Yeah, that's how it worked in the other games, and it was fine.

Giving Morgana lines that should be Joker's inner thoughts makes Joker look flat and boring as a character compared to MC and Yu.

I love Morgana and I think his character is great, but the devs fucked up a couple things that make him unbearable. When he leaves the party you waste several days chasing him down, and although that makes sense from a plot/character perspective, it's absolutely infuriating from a gameplay perspective.
