Mobas focus on one gamemode.
In MXM you can completely ignore the "moba-mode" if you want to.

There is 3v3 arena and PVE which is actually fun. 4v4 is also currently being overhauled, and there is a gamemode in the making that combines the gameplay with tower defense mechanics on a big map for a large party.

The game has a lot more to offer than "moba number XXX". The gameplay itself is also great, no matter which mode you chose to play.
