Chaos is honestly no big miss, they suck as a faction to play, normally they don't appear until mid/late game to come down in an apocalyptic horde to annihilate the world.

There are also all the other dlc races, such as Wood Elves, Beastmen, unique dwarf + goblin faction. All the races will still be in your game, you just can't play them.

Norscans are warhammer scandinavians, whereas WoC are polar desert tribes, mixed with powerful mutants or demons, often led by imperial arch traitors.

Honestly I don't know what to make of this new Campaign Map.
Historical Total Wars were always Factions with slightly different Unit Types killing each other over copy pasted settlements but with the Maelstrom, Ulthuan Walls, Ancient Ruins and all these Faction specific mechanics it seems more like the Scenarios from Napoleon / Atilla except they're all happening at once on a big map.

Empire is kind of a tough position right now because all the new races and factions means they'll be attacked from all sides and definitely not as easy to play as they used to be.

A lot of the mechanics have changed. For example, everyone can now conquer any type of settlement, but different races get penalties when conquering settlements that are outside their preferred type. Also all races have their own unique mechanics, for example Lizardmen can see and use magic ley lines, while High Elves get special options for diplomacy and trade.

Almost nothing has been revealed about the Skaven so far, but their campaign mechanics might end up the most unique of all if they're staying true to the lore.

Profile backgrounds are just boring empty battlefields in 21x9, so the bottom is a black bar for anyone without an ultra widescreen monitor. Emotes have nothing to do with warhammer and are just gold cartoony objects. Badges have nothing to do with warhammer and are just metal types.

I know it's a stupid thing to bitch about, but there is so much potential there. Smug Franz and screaming Grimgor would make great emotes and they have a lot of really cool concept art they could have used for the backgrounds instead of desolate battle maps.

IIRC they'll combine some regions to keep the total number of regions at a reasonable level even with the huge map.

I'm curious about how they'll handle the split between the Old World and Lustria though. If you have to cross the ocean to get from one to the other there might not be much incentive to do so, which means that most games will end up playing like they're two separate maps unless you go out of your way. Like, if you play an Old World race, how will they prevent the whole thing feeling like a simplified version of the original campaign?

Sieges were objectively shit in TW: WH, there were basically only two wall types. Additionally, the game promulgated the failure of being incapable of garrisoning units. Those were only two issues with the game that made it shit compared to a majority of the previous titles.

The backgrounds were ok and achievements were great, all nicely colored and each unique looking.

The private server is decent, but most of the GMs are duds, they update often but its usually trivial shit like fixing a wall or making a PQ no one goes to finishable. The only MAJOR problem with the game is that its playerbase is mainly in Europe/russia. So past 8 pm EST time the pop dies down to 200-300 overall.

Game is super fun though, black orcs zoggin rule.

The game used to have 1k+ from noon to 8 pm EST. It was great, but the devs have been slacking and limitting the gear you can get. One of their biggest fuck ups was the released this new set of gear requires RR60 (its not that high, theyre releasing shit too slow) but it takes hundreds of medallions which only drop off RR42+ players.

ONTOP of it being a huge grind, to aid in the grind they made it so if you get loot like a PQ, but only after the zone is locked(not after the keep take). The loot for #1 or #2 is a gold bag that gives 1 piece of the 100-500+ medallion gear, so it can be seen as a motivation to do ORVR.

HOWEVER they fucked up what adds towards contributon which is what gives you a giant bonus to your loot roll. So people who spent 8+ hours trying to lock a zone end up getting nothing, while randoms who walked into the zone get the big gear piece.

The playerbase is very friendly, but thats really the only saving grace. The devs are insufferable assholes that the majority on the server hate. Most of the GMs police chat channels too, a few friends of mine have gotten temp banned for mentioning Trump or Hillary.

The GMs have done smarmy shit, one of the GMs gave a girl a namechange, which you can't do. Then a regular player figured out that a girl got the name change most likely from a GM, he complained because it should be available to everyone, he got silenced by being banned in game and on the forums. People made a fuss and now everyone can get free name changes.

Also one time a GM was watching a friend of his stream the game, and a guild started 'teabagging' by jumping on the guy after they killed him, the GM banned the whole guild, then the whole guild paid to have the server DDOS'd for a month+ lol.
