Good news, fellow Canadians! Those awful pirates are getting their comeuppance! ]

Our saviors, the cable company Vidtron, are now allowed to do "civil search and seizures"! They can enter your home without prior notice, hold you for 9 hours, interrogate you, seize 'evidence' and not provide you with a lawyer!

Im not a leaf but i think its not an actual bag. Its made out a special plastic and its a cheaper way to buy milk. We call them "sachet" in argentina

I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that a TV company literally, unironically raided someone's house, didn't allow him a lawyer, forced him to reveal his passwords and seized his assets with full court support.
>>
>>386033407
The line between government and big corporation gets blurrier every day
>>

How do you even force someone to reveal his password? Like seriously, that's impossible without torture.

>>386033654
probably some sort of threats, and considering that he had no lawyer or proof beyond his own word there could be a lot of nasty shit they could threaten a person with if they've effectively imprisoned the person and seized their stuff.

the milk is technically in 2 bags
the bag its in when you buy it and the sealed portion is a "bag" if you cut the top completely open(instead of just a snip to pour the milk)

Canada doesn't have stand-your-ground/castle doctrine laws. People can be and have been arrested for trying to fend off someone who broke into their own home.

>>
>>386033910
By law you are not obliged to give them your password. Anything inside your head can't be demanded by law. You are, if they have a court order, obliged to give them access to your PC, the physical PC. But you are not and will never be obliged to give them the password to decrypt files on the PC. That is their problem, they need to deal with it. The law can't force you to incriminate yourself. And even if you have nothing to hide, you don't need to give them the password or any knowledge you posses.

You don't even need to be a lawyer to know this shit. You SHOULD know shit like this just in case something as idiotic as this happens, in case a retarded egomaniac police officer or prosecutor tries to push you around.

My neighbor was falsely accused of being a drug dealer. Since the police is rather retarded, they actually missed his house and raided mine. They took my PC and kept telling me to give my password. I just ignored them, they kept threatening me. Later on I got a shitload of money and the lead detective got suspended not just for fucking up the case but also for trying to abuse his position and make illegal demands from me.

No fucking way would I give those plebeians access to my doujin collection.

99% of police work relies on people being ignorant of the law and their rights under the law. They'll threaten and scaremonger people into giving them what they want and incriminating themselves even if they've actually done nothing wrong. They bank on people being so afraid of being busted for something that they willingly cave under the pressure without ever knowing they never had to say a word.

I'm sorry for your loss but that's what you get for voting in a faggot faggot.

Hopefully you'll be smart enough to vote in someone who can reverse all the damage this retard has done next time.

You forgot the best part of the Canadian dictatorship going on.

>Canadian media company dues Google for not removing piracy completely from the internet.
>Court tells Google they must now remove any sites the opposing party wants them too globally
>Google tells them that's bullshit and they have no authority anywhere but Canada
>Canada says too bad. Go complain in your country.
>Google now has to sue Canada in US courts so that the US can officially tell Canada to go fuck itself.
>>
>>386035782
It's like those retards have absolutely no fucking idea how the internet works. What the fuck can Google do besides hiding search results? They can't remove anything. Do retards really believe that Google literally owns the internet or what?

With the size and power of Google, they can easily sue Google for monopolistic behavior and abuse.
>>
>>386031762
