If you have shit like a Steam ID/URL or Xbox Live or Skype name, don't put it in a publicly visible info field like forums tend to encourage you to do. Don't even post it. If you ever have the option to hide an email address from other users, use it. Your IP is not connected publically to a home address. What someone can view by seeing your IP is the datacenter that assigned you the static or dynamic address. Generally this is in, or close to the town the person lives in.

The ISP themselves do know which IP address are used at certain times and which accounts they are connected to. The account information includes the billable address, so the ISP themselves can find your actual location with the IP, but other people can only get the general region you are in.

What you SHOULD be using is a password safe. It's like a notebook, except it will generate passwords for you, auto type them in, and the best ones are currently unbreakable with todays, tomorrows, and next week's technology.

The only downside?

It's unbreakable. Meaning if you forget your own password to the password safe, you're royally fucked. But it's not hard to remember only one password because the program will generate the rest of them for you upon asking.

I recommend KeePass.
