Raiding is less about personal investment and more about finding the right people to play with (though it helps not being shit at the game). I started playing around Second Coil and I cleared that tier while it was on content while being failry new so... It's all up to you my dude.

Eventually the MSQs will dry up, and the bonus you get from doing certain content once a day weighs heavily towards a routine of playing for an hour or two once a day to get that bonus, since doing more after that doesn't net you as many resources. I feel ARR Extreme Primals were good, but they clearly designed them around ilvls that sync doesn't drop you to, and unsync totally fucks a bunch of them up, so even if you wanted to experience them now you have to find a group willing to do minimum ilvl sync.

Worst EX primals for release though probably Ifrit and Bismarck. I feel like despite the ease, Shiva, Susano, and Lakshmi are still pretty fun.

Stormblood's story is pretty divisive. Most folks either love it or hate it, but it's generally agreed that the second half is pretty weak.

Heavensward is great, though. It's slightly lighter on filler and drops most of the Scions in exchange for a much more interesting cast.

If you didn't care for 2.0's questing, you may enjoy the Dark Knight story. Once you reach Ishgard, check around the Pillars to get started.

You go DPS in hopes of speeding things up but the tank is bad and doesn't use cooldowns or pull big and the healer is still shit.

Dont even get me started on 8 mans. People want a carry so badly and blatantly now that they are DPS'ing lower than a tank in fucking tank stance spamming hate combo the whole time.

Did you know that you can tell roughly what ilvl any given role is by what their max HP is because vitality is standardized across gear? I load into a dungeon and see a tank with 50k hp, I know he's geared well and I should expect big pulls and solid threat. I see one with 42k and I know to temper my expectations. I see a tank with 25k hp and I know his shit's either broken or he's intentionally being so clever troll. This shit isn't rocket science.

Here's a fun tip, two tanks in DPS stance can make aggro from nothing via Provoke + Shirk and will never lose aggro despite never doing an enmity combo past the first 10 seconds of a fight.
