Character creator was the best an MMO could offer back then (and maybe now). So much customization and ability to create your dream waifu (except if you wanted her to look dandy, you had to buy a monocle for $100).

Thinking about this being my new one. Despite everyone and their dog jumping on these new Elonian skins I just can't resist.

She's meant to be a ranger, with an attrition build. Tried my best to make her look grounded in the world, since I sometimes start to RP against random strangers. I think I concocted a sensible backstory too.
Can't equip my gear yet since I haven't boosted to 80 yet. But not planning on any flashy items.

Guild Wars 2 was fun

Well yes if you start as a F2P on a brand new fresh account you get 4 zone, Almost every class but 3. You get Housing, You only have just a few annoying handicap like 2 Gold max limit, only a few skill trait slot is open not all. But not something that will make the game unplayable

The system works like, Every zone has Deeds like Do x amount of Quests, Kill x amount of This type of mobs, Discover these locations. If you do all you get a Meta achiv that gives LOTRO Points too.

You can use the Points for pretty much anything. Buy Inventory slot, Zones, Expansions, Boosts, Action House space, Cosmetics, etc, Lot of Shit.

If you play like a completionist you can pretty much always have enough points to buy the next zone.

Butt, You can also just put down 1 month of subscription you unlock like 11 More zone with that, You get extra shits like bag space, and in 30 days, You can easily do most of the zones to get points for Buying the First Expansion, That will give enough for the next etc. Or you can just buy the Expansions with Money.

You can play the game 100% and get everything eventully, But if you do that it's gonna be a long Grindfest.

It does. I think I spent some odd 60 euros or something on getting the game with all the dlc included (maybe even had some of those points added). I just don't like locked content that costs money. I'd rather pay a monthy fee and have everything open to me than go through that bullshit of micro transations.

Also, that you can play with the "bad guys" seemed like a weird take, which I don't entirely get the point of, but I'm gonna go and say that's probably the equivalent of daily quests or something.

There is next to no customization of the actual body in FFXIV, nearly all of it goes to the face. The only things you can change is height, muscle definition, tail type for the races that have them and breast size for female characters (which ranges from flat to B-cup unless you're a Roe).

Also people are terrible at character design, but this is true regardless of the game.

I played this shit from 8th grade and into freshman year of college with breaks in-between.

I'm actually on the website in the "community" section. I'm at the bottom with the green robe in the pic with the bandana.

Basically you can hurt NPCs in areas where you can use abilities, but they almost have near invicibility. The new town at the time, Oren, had a shop keep where he had almost no life and you can use dagger throw ability of a rogue. So I got my buddy to kill him and he got caught. So at the time I'm an elected "Demagogue" and he was to be banned from the city I represented "Mileth" and the other city of "Rucession".

The game had cool shit like city elected officials and the game working with the community to come up with events. I also liked where you can get to level 99 then choose to "Master" the class, or change classes one time, but retain all your old classes abilities and spells (then mastering). The "pure" masters got extra abilities that "subs" could not get.

I was checking it again. Bless Online was released, but it was so bad that all servers (except the korean one) got closed down. The english server was also canceled before it was even released. I'm actually looking for those types of MMO, with the top-down view. It just looks comfy as fuck.

I was super hyped for Tree of Savior, but from what I heard it was deserted and is now invaded by bots.
Ragnarok Online's gameplay's just not my thing.
Same with Runescape plus the game looks... Well, terrible.

It is slower especially early on with so few mechanics to worry about at lower levels. they tried to design it in such a way that it would teach new players how to play properly but all it's such a gradual curve that it's like pulling teeth. It's completely unacceptable to me that a level 16 instance has a DPS job using two fucking buttons.

The combat and grind of the game is what it is, but what really annoys me is the character creator. It has so many nice customization options to make good (or awful) looking characters but some of the choices they made for the simplest things like color or hairstyle selection are so asinine.
