the glory of the game is how incredibly confusing it is if you don't draw a map, its so easy if you follow the map, almost stupid, but without it its very hard to understand where you are, because areas are copied precisely to confuse you, great design at the time

prime 2 is double fucking garbage because of the huge mandatory item hunt at the end and the almost complete lack of sequence breaks, no metroid fan would list it in the top half

just because it does a few things really well doesn't excuse it being a bad metroid

Was playing through fusion for the first time recently, ended up stopping. Not sure why, I think it's that I dont like the way the maps are separated into a level-like structure, feels extremely linear.

I confess that I was not able to finish it due to difficulty, but its one of those mods that doesn't make the difficulty stupid, it just keeps getting harder and harder slowly until you hit your limit, which is why I enjoy it and have attempted it twice

theres an area where you have to go through dozens of rooms without hitting the glowing walls to get the 'correct route' that doesnt activate enemies, but there is an alternate way to proceed that isn't so difficult

it adds 'security doors' like fusion and a few other neat things I won't spoil
