Not so fast, faggot. I played the SHIT out of that. It was my first Zelda.
>>385996291
>>385996352
Where does Centy rank among old-school Zelda-likes? So far I've only done the Neutopia games (awesome) and Golden Axe Warrior (solid)
>>385996517
It might not be the absolute best but it is the most comfy of them all, still pretty damn good too
>>385996291
This game is pretty good. It's amazing though, I didn't expect myself to be so ass mad over the ending. Honestly one of the few times a story event in a game genuinely pissed me off.
>>385996517
>>385996761
Yeah. Objectively speaking, it makes some weird design decisions and the plot is kind of retarded, but it is still a really fucking chill game.
I've never had discussion on pic related for a long time
>>385996291
Soleil was popular as shit though, it's one of the best Genesis games.
>>385996895
Dunno, I liked the plot a lot more than the hero has to vanquish the evil demon lord who is threatening the world bullshit these kind of games usually have. Sure it wasn't super deep, but it was nice.
>>385996978
I couldn't believe this was a sequel to Drakkhen. It plays nothing like that piece of shit
>>385996291
Why is there no chart of Zelda-likes?
>Final Fantasy Adventure
>Golden Axe Warrior
>The Soulblazer games
Anymore we could add?
Great puzzle game for the Dreamcast
>>385997969
Elemental Gimmick Gear
Gunman's Proof
Alundra
>>385997908
No kidding. I didn't know it was a sequel when I played it. Only found out a few years ago and all I could say was, "Huh."

>Sharp wave of deja vu and nostalgia hits me

>>385998660
It's in the title. Super Hang-On. Great game. I had it on the 6-pack
>>385996291
>>385998754
Thank you so much! Time to revisit the old classics.
>>385998847
>>385998979
Just learn to take corners and you are golden. I really recommend just booting up the entire 6-pack for Genesis. Every game on there is great. It was a fucking steal when it came out.
>>385996291
I love Crusader of Centy and its OST. Goddamn, the Genesis sound chip is so comfy to listen... Brings back too many memories.
Even when comparing Zombies Ate My Neighbors SNES and Genesis, I prefered the latter version just because of how the OST sounds on it (and how the HUD looks too). Sometimes less is more.
>>385998847
>>385999094
swan dive
you guys will enjoy it when it releases.
Lions heart
Haven't seen anyone else talk about it
>>385999627
Nigga it's on Steam and PS3
>>385999627
it was shit tho, probably has the worst combat in videogame history
>>385996291
another decent zelda type game from sega
>>385997969
Ys and the Mana series.
You rang?
Medicore gameplay, great atmosphere.
>>386001860
That and this. Although without the benefit of knowing entirely what was going on. Zombie fights were a bitch.
>1000 FARM
Right as always, CAPTCHA
>>385996291
Dark Savior. Seen people on /vr/ talk about it, but not on /v/.
>>386004582
I know I at least got to the 3rd story arc, don't remember if I got to the 4th. The last portion I can remember somewhat clearly was attempting to ascend up through some bullshit hedge maze.
>>386003552
Nearly bought that in the summer sale but it didn't survive the final purge
We obscure yuro rpgs now

Samefag here. Forgot Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen
>>386005610
This game actually looks pretty neat. Think I'll look into it.
>>386005610
>>386006369
>actually tried to play this game somewhat recently
>it "runs" but the framerate is absolutely horrible for some reason and the UI buttons are unresponsive
Good luck getting this to run properly I guess.
>>386006369
It's decent from what I remember, had some interesting features like the talking weapon and MC dragon powers that randomly kick in during battle. Just watch out for the translation, it's dodgy at best
>>386006821
Don't think I had those problems but it was a bastard for crashing
>>385999101
I bought this one on Steam to check out.
Terrible game.
Glorious ass.
>>386007378
I barely got into the game because of how laggy it was. I'm actually downloading it again and I'm on a different machine this time so maybe it runs. Did you finish it? It kind of looks like the very poor man's Baldur's Gate.

I remember. They said it was an attempt to introduce fps games to Japanese audiences.
Apparently Japanese get disoriented with first person shooters.
>>385996291
Crusader of Centy is one of my favorites. IMO it was better than the Zelda games that were out at the same time. Either way, it definitely looked better than Zelda. The OST is great.
>>386004582
Another favorite of mine, this game is severely underrated.
>>385997969
>>386001381
>>386005616
Why call it Zelda-like if Zelda didn't invent the style of game?
>>386002068
A friend lent me that in fourth grade in exchange for one of my games. Lost it(found behind furniture years later) and never gave it back. From the little I played it was pretty fun and now that you reminded me I'm gonna give it another go. Just wish I could remember what game I traded with him in the first place.
>>386008881
Probably Tron Bonne or Suikoden 2
>>386008881
Pretty sure I still have my copyfrom Blockbustersomewhere.
>>385996517
>Linear action game
>Zelda like
Why not just be Honest, and call it a amazing Adventure game?
this game is ugly and broken but oh lord did i play the shit out of it
>>385996291
i played this (albeit on an emulator) but I got stuck on the beach area with Sonic. It was fun though.
>>386007721
>Did you finish it?
Nah, think I got a fair bit through but dropped it after a particularly infuriating crash. Never went back
>poor man's Baldur's Gate
More linear overall but that's a fair assessment. I didn't mind it though, games like this have a rough charm about them despite rarely being that good (when they bother actually working)
>>386008427
>Apparently Japanese get disoriented with first person shooters.
You can't really turn around the way you want to. Pointing at anything is a pain. Low Field of View also means its nauseating since you can't tunnel vision further if FOV is low.
Its not that Japs suffer any special kind of motion sickness, its more about them not being used to the format, so they complain when they see a issue.
Meanwhile Splatoon has the worlds best marked penetration, because the control scheme is actually good, where high mobility is also possible.
It was fun to play but i remember getting stuck on one level. Never came back to it.
I of the Dragon, because what other game lets you be a flying necromancer capable of picking up monsters and eating them?
At least I hope so.
If you've played this, then I'm sorry for making you think of it.
>>385996291
My brother and sister and I rented this game and we really wanted to play it again but everyone forgot what it was called
>>385996978
>>386001860
Played those. They were pretty alright, from what I remember. I had a lot of fun with Dragon Force in particular.
>>386016316

>>385999285
Gameplay didn't particularly work or was fun. Way too nose-leading for a game that shouldn't been near open mansion-exploration.

>>385998660
>>385997151

this piece of shit
>>386012836
Welp. I just set up a Virtual Machine for XP and the game just launches into a black screen. Maybe the files I got are fucked. Guess I'll wait for the potential GOG release.
I have never seen anyone talk about this in my life
>>386017832
fug, that's unfortunate. If you're in the mood for odd BG clones give this a try instead, had it going on Windows 7 a while back so it should work
>>386018071
That looks interesting. Thanks, I'll check it out.
>>386018397
Everyone and their mum played Space Hulk, anon, it was like flavour of the year.
Crashes either after or on the mission briefing if you try and emulate it, has to be played on the actual console.
Always wanted to share my love for this hidden gem but never found the opportunity.
>>386013680
Played it; as far as I remember it, it was fucking trash, too.
>>386008756
because zelda btfo every single game released before it
same reason why people use the term underlike
>>386021414
Oh hey that got recommended to me in a ROM thread.
>>386003552
Never heard of this, but it looks dope as fuck.
On a plus note, these threads are usually like 90% shit-posting, but I can say I have not played any of these and they seem fairly rare or obscure. Good job guys

>>385998621
The story in this game was batshit crazy. Also, fuck that part at the end where they take all your shit away.
Sometimes I come in these threads and just post games I love that could never have their own thread in hopes someone will come talk about it. I know some of you have played it
>>386023221
You keep reposting this image, do you actualy expect anyone to have actually played it?
