Im not the only fan of this series here am I?
>>385987184
it sucks honestly
it was probably good when it came out, but it sucks now...
>>385987184
I enjoyed the hell out of the first one, but not the DLC or the 2nd game for some reason. I kinda liked 2, but it didn't feel quite right.
>>385987184
I like it too, even though I get lost because I'm retarded. Can't find the blue imps and can't seem to progress anywhere without them.
>>385987184
Really wish the "play as the big bad" caught on beyond Overlord and FFT's Marche.
>>385987859
same, i love playing as the evil guy in vidya. Dungeon keeper was fun, haven't tried the newest ones yet though.
>>385987520
Carver didn't invent peanut butter
>>385987520
2 felt too short, by the time you got blues the game was over. Plus the variety was really lacking.
I thought these games were fun and I'd probably play another one if it came out, but I'm not exactly clamouring for it.
>>385988313
Agreed. 2 never even got an xpac or anything did it?
1 was decent, never played 2
Fuck that serpent in the blue cave
It was fun back in the day but I got stuck at the sandworm in the desert part and quit.
>>385989290
How exactly did you get stuck?
>>385989290
Pro-tip: you can kill the sand worms by having your minions carry those exploding bug eggs out into the sand. The sand worms will eat them, and they will explode inside the worm killing it. The worms also do not respawn so it's possible to kill all of them for good.
>>385989290
Sacrifice/send a brown to grab a bomb beetle, guide him into desert, bait the worm then run. Repeat until all worms are dead and grab all collectables in the desert.
>>385987184
The first is one of my favorite 360 games (not exclusive, I know). I think I've forgotten everything about the 2nd except for the crap controls and the spider sequence.
>>385987184
Overlord had an interesting theme, and I liked it a great deal. However I feel the combat/puzzles were fairly lackluster. I wish there was more to the game then slamming your imps into stuff, if that makes any sense.
>>385990191
Still better than the Wii game and that.. other one.
Being essentially a third-person RTS, it was quite enjoyable and I'd love something similar.
>>385987184
First one is good.
Second one felt off. Also takes too long to get all the minions and things and there's not much to do afterwards
>>385987184
I really enjoyed the game at the time, but I was just a bit disappointed that there wasn't more you could do with your minions or your main character. More ways to specialise minions and something like a talent tree would have been great for your Overlord.
Pic related was one of the most comfy spots in the whole game.
>>385991407
Could you imagine a proper open-world adaptation?
>Command your army of Imps against your enemies in a world you can shape as you see fit
>Specialize your kit as you see fit as well as that of your minions
>Become like a god among men or a caring ruler who smites only those who oppose him
>>385987184
I like it but I wish there was a game like this but with a more serious tone and more edgy. Would be cool to have a literally edgelord simulator.
>>385991791
>Become like a god among men or a caring ruler who smites only those who oppose him
One thing I liked about Overlord 2 is they replaced this system of good or evil with Dominating and enslaving or destroying and burning. Less whether you are good or bad ruler and more whether you are Rampaging around seeking to destroy all civilization or you are a tyrant forging a dark empire.
>>385991997
You can already do pretty edgy shit. Like deprive a town of food in the first game and club baby seals in the second. I think the evil stuff is nicely balanced out by the dark humor and decorating the tower to be comfy for the Mistresses.
>>385992246
Agreed. The bonus that Blacksmiths would make armor and weapons for your minions if you didn't kill them was very nice as well.
>>385991791
>open-world
>>385992521
No, I mean real edgy stuff. Like opening a portal from hell and conquer the world with thousands of demons. All kinds of demons would come out with their own sadistic purpose. The game would have twisted depictions of rape, torture, and complete genocide of entire groups of people.
>>385992787
It fits the concept of a real-time strategy anything better than a level-based (technically RTS have really big levels, but whatever) linear game.
>>385993035
Well in the expansion to the first game you have plenty of torture in literal hell. Like a hlafling being forced to eat and eat until he explodes, an angry man twisted into being a wall, immobilized and immortal.
And the second game lets you twist a elf queens mind into being evil and becoming your mistress. Something her actual self would be horrified at. So that's close to mind-control rape.
Loved these games.
How the fuck do I get through the burning castle?
My imps are weak as fuck and can hardly take on those knights.
>playing edgy pikmin
>>385987184
Yes. Just you. You are the only person and you are also the person to blame for the shitty sequels.
>>385987184
played both. pc 1 ps3 2 almost got plat on 2.
