Inafune-san is nothing but a shameless self-promoter. I've never caught him lying, but he lies by omission. He NEVER mentions the contributions of anyone else. When he talks about old games, he only talks about his own contributions, or just talks about the project. He's not there to give a history lesson, rather he's there to promote himself. Inafune was the first in Japan to understand the power of the "rockstar dev". He probably learned it via Romero. And instead of seeing it as a cautionary tale, he emulated it.
