Incompetence, deadlines corresponding to a concert of all things. They've since fixed the most egregious issues, but the audio in KH1 is still pretty bad. Hopefully they port to Steam so people can patch the remaining issues themselves.

The port did get mostly fixed but it's still not worth shit because of the missing sounds and vioces and 30fps cutscenes.

Sound effects in KH1 frequently drop and cut each other off. It sounds like shit, and is probably related to the framerate increase. Crazy people tying everything in their game to a single update with zero foresight, like "who cares, it'll always be a 30fps PS2 game, ship it."

It got fixed in the save corruption patch. The only thing slightly messed up now is Marluxia's data battle and only that it's very slightly faster with his attacks at best so a single of his attacks have to be avoided in a different way instead of just blocking twice.

There's loads of little things, some from the PS2 version even. In KH2 the biggest issues are Setzer's checkmate counter not working and Luxord's card not following him properly. Some boss quotes also drop randomly, like Dragon Xemnas taunting Sora and Riku. A few cutscenes also play at 60fps, which is funny.
In KH1 it's mostly the audio problems: sound effects dropping and End of the World's music not playing in its intro cutscene. There's also a crash with dalmation chests and synth grinding, but the conditions for it to happen are pretty unlikely.

Nomura really seems to like this line. It's featured prominently in the KH1FM secret ending, Xemnas says it during the final boss fight, Sora says it to Riku in the ending, even Yazoo and Loz say it to Cloud at the end of Advent Children. It doesn't even mean anything significant, I think he literally just likes it because it sounds cool

The audio problems with the boss fights in KH2 hurts my soul. Like, compare the fight with Saix in the PS2 version, particularly when he goes berserk, next to the HD version. It's a goddamn tragedy
