Games by definition are about challenge or competition of some sort. I'm not talking about strictly video games, but games in general. You can lose at chess or monopoly, just like video games like DOOM. They have fail states. Simulators are just meant to replicate an experience. You can't fail a simulation. It's impossible to lose at firewatch (it's a walking sim) and eurotruck simulator. They aren't games.

In ETS, you can fail to make a delivery on time, costing you money and potential clients.
