it can honestly be beaten without a guide, but I can think of two puzzles that I only managed to get past by brute forcing, using the mantras, and taking a knee. Everything else I worked out through logic and/or experimentation.

I never bothered to find out if there were hints that I missed that would have helped me with those two puzzles, so I can't really say whether they were unfair or not. iirc there was actually a hint for taking a knee I just didn't understand it, but it's been a while so I can't say for sure.

>combat is AWFUL, sub weapons are horrible, weapons are utterly unbalanced and axe stays the best overall weapon all the way to endgame
>no actual feeling of getting stronger because majority of finds are puzzle-related and not character movement or power-related with like two exceptions
like, if i wanted to play in a puzzle game i would play in a fucking puzzle game
as a metroidvania this shit is awful and even expansive map doesn't save it
