Military shotguns are usually 3 shot, ultra short barreled pump actions for frangible breaching charges and flares in the field or short range antimateriel slugchuckers on trucks or patrol boats. No first world military has seriously fielded one as an antipersonnel weapon since Vietnam. The closest you'll find would be either cops or African paratroopers, depending on your desired vector of deviation.

Tried it as well, got tired of it quickly because of the small, bottleneck maps which usually led to a meatgrind. I really enjoyed co-op with other people but that stopped being fun too because of the Source engine bots who could snipe you with hand gun from across the map between a tiny slit and it's almost impossible to get a jump on them since they seem to have 360° awareness and lightning fast reaction.

Superb weapons and sounds though. I heard they port the game to Unreal 3 or 4 engine, I hope the maps will get bigger and more complex.

Why don't Engineers carry PDWs, with any elite, or special forces type class carrying a SBR instead of a SMG. Police use SMGs, any professional military uses a SBR

I've never seen this "NO X or Y" bullshit outside of Battlefield, it's pathetic. If you can't remove weapons with a script or mutator don't fucking bother to tell people to stop using it. It's also the only series I've played where you had to tell not to spawn camp, even though the maps clearly allowed it. DICE made some of THE worst maps I've ever played on, shit that map creators would be ashamed to publish.
