Is there other media where the world is ruled by vampires? Genuinely curious. Vampires are typically in the shadows, whether medieval fantasy or urban fantasy--any kind of fantasy, really. They tend not to be so out in the open.

Morrowind is the most oustanding example of it, as Vvardenfell is really something alien and unique, but the whole Elder Scrolls setting is very unique
The problem is is that nowadays the games are very standard on a surface level, but when you take a better look you see that the weirdness of TES still exists

I'm currently replaying the series and and I'm halfway through Defiance. Good fucking lord, I wish these would get remakes. Leave the artstyle, story and everything intact, just fix the controls and shit like the terrible boss fights from Blood Omen 2. The characters and feeling of the world is so fucking good, but the gameplay has aged like milk.

The Endless series
Although I can't really say much about ES and ES2, but they really decided that different races should be something different, not humans with a lick of paint
And even when they went for a rather boring concept, they usually decided to give it a spin in another direction
The Wild Walkers are elves in tune with nature, so in tune that they decide to use their powers to become the biggest industrialists in existance
The only rather bland factions are the United Empire and the Vaulters, maybe the Roving Clans, but their unwavering Jewness is kinda fun to see

Yeah, but IIRC the first Soul Reaver is best on Dreamcast version, as the audio fucks up on PC for some reason, I think it just doesn't play.

That said, I'd really love to see actual remakes, not just "HD" plastered on the cover, while leaving the game as they are.

I always thought SMT Nocturne was interesting because when it comes to "post apocalyptic" it is usually just nuclear holocaust or something similar.

In Nocturne world actually ended and you are exploring the vortex just before the final judgement.
It was refreshing that only couple of humans were alive and it was only angels and demons.

The Lost City worshiped Cthulhu before it got plunged underground. Also there are fish people there in the third game.
