Right now the game assumes that when the machine has chucked a wobbly in the most basic sense of what it permit the game to do, I throw it off to a retard ranch function where it starts asking questions like "What modes do you support at a matching ratio with lowest level depth for speed?" and then I set the mode based on that. Was not a problem for 16 years under Windows under any version. It's solved now and new build fixed all these issues.

My honest opinion is that it will be released, and it will pretty much what was promised, an old-school dungeon crawler.

The only problem is that those aren't exactly fun.

In all seriousness, you would have to have some kind of deficiency to actually believe this game was actually going to release. He didn't release it years ago after multiple crowdfunding attempts and he didn't release it today when he actually somehow convinced people it was for real this time. Blakemore has shit the bed at every opportunity and after 20 years I think it's pretty safe to assume anything that comes out of this man's mouth is aggrandizations and lies. This was pretty much it for him as far as I am concerned. This was his best chance to release the game and still have anyone on his side. Because while I applaud his dedication to trolling people, I also think that once you defraud people like he did with his crowdfunding backers, you cross a line. Because looking back, it's pretty clear he had/has no intention of ever actually releasing this game. He has had three failures to launch on Steam this year alone.This time the game was apparently uploaded. Literally all he had to do was push a button and release it. The problem with all of this is regression testing. Are basic functions already tested available 6 months later when tested on the same platform? Game companies have Q&A and testers who do nothing but check these things with automation on a daily basis. I'm just one guy. I didn't expect that a program with the most basic interface to Windows imaginable would run fine a year ago and suddenly break on a laptop with a different graphics card a year later. Nothing fancy about what Grimoire is doing. It runs great now, I tried it on an additional platform just to make sure Windows 10 is covered.

I have a question which I assure you I ask in good faith.

If you are so certain that the developer of this game, Cleve as he seems to be called, will once again fail to produce results, why do you watch and participate in the drama?

I ask this because I only very recently found out about this game. I was not an Eye of the Beholder player, and my foray into the Wizardry series was short lived because I didn't like the SF elements that were thrown all over the place. Wizardry was a damn fine game, mind you, and no gamer worth the title is ignorant of the nightmarishly vibrant BS that was the horror and thrill of playing Eye of the Beholder. I am here mostly as a veteran of the Mordor and Might and Magic series, so I have missed a story more than two decades in the making.

If things are as bad as so many claim them to be, why is anyone even here? If I pumped a well and it didn't sprout water for years, I'd have long moved on by now. Is it Schadenfreude? Is it a long held grudge over a long running chain of dishonesty? Is it a powerful display of cynicism that masks one spark of hope that maybe this will be the day?

I don't think anyone is wrong to be hostile here, given the history of the developement. I'm simply perplexed and inebriated and more than a little curious at the tenacity and dedication it takes to bare grudge of that length over an item that has yet to manifest.
