Nosferatu can still use persuasion, but a lot of dialogue with NPCs will change because of how you look. You can still talk to most people though. The unofficial patch is not nearly as essential as people claim but you can use it if you want. At the least, I recommend you don't install the "What some drama queen thinks the developers REALLY wanted" patch. Don't pick malkavian or nosferatu for your first play through. Seduction and intimidate are largely useless, go with persuasion if you want speech options. That being said, apparently a lot of retards didn't notice all the forced combat they had before they got to the combat difficulty bump that is the sewers and are under the delusion this combat sequence has no precedence in the game and is bullshit because they never speced for it. Don't be as stupid as they were, invest in combat. Some parts are easier with ranged, other parts easier with melee. Just pick one, either will get you through the whole game without much trouble.

You can do some maneuvers by holding each of wasd whenever you attack. Honestly, I think ranged combat is less interesting since guns are so strong in this game. Spellcasting disciplines are decent, but once your enemies are primarily other supernaturals, they stop being so good.

Yea that's true. It's not as bad as people say it is. Doesn't make the end game feel like it's not one long combat sequence. Literally Giovanni crypt and the brothers, society of Leopold, Sabbat at the hollowbrook, Griffith Park and then the end sequence. Can't really stealth after Leopold or avoid any boss fights without sequence breaking or bugs.

Honestly, I didn't invest in any combat on my first play through and I suffered for it in the sewers.

I won't argue against the idea that the climax is little more than a giant combat gauntlet run, it definitely is. My only problem is I don't understand why people ever thought it was reasonable to assume they would never need combat skills. The game is absolutely littered with forced combat from beginning to end and the narrative is all about how there's a war brewing that's about to erupt. I have this problem, I have a huge backlog of modern games but I always end up playing through Bloodlines, Dark Messiah, Deus Ex or Dungeon Keeper again.

Dungeon Keeper is very good, although I'd start with Dungeon Keeper 2 if you're new to the series.

Yeah, its a real time strategy game although a lot of fans call it a dungeon building simulator. Its one of the funnest games I've ever played. (nobody aims for just "fun" anymore, everything has to be artsy, cinematic or just an eyegasm)

It's certainly very useful, but some obstacles can be overcome with hacking, while some other locked doors are simply shortcuts, so it's not mandatory. But yeah, I'd say putting a few points to security wouldn't hurt.

You do NOT need lockpicking or hacking to get to the CIS door and cabinet. To get into the upper floor, simply blood buff and lockpick or persuade the bitch at the hospital entry.

You then have 2 choices to open the controlled substances door. Either enter the vaults from one of the rooms and make your way into the CIS room from above, and then hack your way into the CS door by having good hacking skill. Otherwise, you can persuade the guard to give you the key.

To open the safe, you either need to hack the CS cabinet lock from the CIS room computer, or you can find the password for the cs cabinet lock in the hospital (hint: it's on the main floor).

is it feasible to play a character who is forever at 0 humanity? i've never played the game in a way that i've ever lost any so i don't really know what happens

The lowest your humanity can get is 3. At that point, you frenzy frequently if you're low on blood. Your dialogue choices also change drastically and reflect your violent nature. Low humanity unlocks heartless dialogue choices for responding to NPCs and quests that weren't there when you had high humanity.

I think you can probably patch the game to let you hit zero humanity, but the short answer of that is no. You'll be executed the same way you would be if you maxed out masquerade violations. Usually using trance, hysteria or ravens will get them to drop quest items. Last I checked everyone except Toreador and Brujah have at least one of those options. Gangrel/Nosferatu animalism. Specifically the burrowing beetle, level 2 I think. If you watch any speedruns they kill Ming Xiao with it in like 15 seconds by spamming it and using bloodpacks, it's pretty strong. I've never used it but I'll probably do a Gangrel with it on my next run.
