What's the verdict? Does it have a good selection of games?
Fantastic selection, but 95% are hidden gems that we're never advertised.
The PSP? Yeah, it had a decent selection. 2 WipEout games, two Ace Combat games, Gran Turismo, a few Motorstorm games, Metal Gear games and such.
Also had a fucking ton of weeaboo shit if you're into that kind of crap.4

Could you post some? I'm planning on getting one and I'm curious to see what it has in store for me.

There were good weaboo shit.

Not dissing out that stuff or anything, but I never really liked them, not up to my tastes.
>>385910246
>mfw would still be playing some old PSP games if I hadn't stepped on it getting out of bed
>>385910318
This guy knows what he's talking about. Also had Burnout, Legends comes startlingly close to replicating the perfection of Burnout 3.

Fuggg, forgot Burnout. I actually liked Burnout Dominator.
Also, there's god damn Battlefront on the PSP, it's surprisingly fun.
For decent shooters there's Medal of Honor games which were decent, SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs for tacticool oper8 shit and Coded Arms.

PSP homebrew isn't too complicated right? I haven't looked into it other than skimming through /vg/'s homebrew general which didn't have a visible PSP guide.

It's probably the easiest console to hack. Just gotta update to the latest firmware, put the installer on your memory card and press X to install.
>>385911008
this is good list
>>385911172
it's easy as fuck
>>385911214
>>385911230
Oh wow, I though it would be like 3DS where you have to downgrade and all. That's sounds great!
>>385911317
PSP is much older, so everything already fleshed out.
>>385911317
Only pitfall is that the CFW isn't permanent, you have to run a CFW booter if you ever power off.
The CFW booter only takes 10 seconds and the PSP sleep mode lasts for months so it's no biggie.

So other than the obvious PSP games that I can play on it, what else can I play emulator-wise?
>>385911440
dunno. never cared for emulator
you can play whole PS1 library tho
>>385911440
PS1 games work very well on the PSP.
SNES and GBA games are a mixed bag. Some games work smoothly, some require heavy frameskipping or don't run at a playable speed.
Anything older will be fine.
>>385911478
There are a handful of unplayable PS1 games.
>>385911430
I'm still on the 6.2 CFW because I'm too lazy to spend 5 seconds reactivating it.
Is there anything even going up to the 6.6 CFW for?
>>385911513
>There are a handful of unplayable PS1 games.
really? my mistake then, I thought all PS1 games worked aside of those which needed two analogue sticks
>>385911547
I remember upgrading my CFW for Disgaea 2 DLCs, dunno what else it needed for
>>385911547
Maybe some new games work better? I just make a habit of installing the latest stuff.I installed Infinity before it was discovered that there is a brick risk, so I have 6.61 permanent CFW
>>385911570
I seem to remember that Megaman Legends had issues. Those games got JP-exclusive ports, anyway.
Besides that, there are a few games that need tweaking. Custom EBOOTs may require a plugin for CD audio to work, and POPSloader can also help.

A literal chimp could do it if you set up the files for him. He's bound to hit X on the file explorer eventually.

I see, thanks for explanation
