I just finished REmake for the first time. Great game.
I really want to play all the games now. Do the lightgun games and the outbreak series have any importance in the overall story?

Have RE threads ever really stopped? Even after having spent the last decade with nothing but mediocre to outright bad entries in the series, it's still got a strong following.

REmake is the best game in the series, as far as I'm concerned. That said, if you liked REmake, you should at least like the rest of the "classic" games. Everything from RE4 on is "love it or hate it", depending on personal taste.

The lightgun games pretty much sum up past stories while adding nothing really important. If you are interested in Krauser's backstory it might be worth a look.
I don't even know if Outbreak even was considered canon but since one character got a slight reference in Resident Evil 7 it might be. They are not important to the overall story anyway.

Am I wrong? Also, are the revelations games like RE4?

Why are there people that still support the REmake HD port when 80% of the backgrounds are blown up and filtered to hell and back from their 480p resolution.

At least the RE0 port they somehow still had the files, you can compare and clearly see, but why the FUCK would you support the REmake butchering is beyond fucking me. I'll be destined to play this on my GC + CRT until I fucking die.

There's a lot of creative decisions at that point that divided the fanbase down the middle. Some loved it, some hated it. General atmosphere aside, RE4 was a drastic shift from the older RE games.

60fps, widescreen, and cleaned up character models help. The only background that I find distractingly bad is the drained aqua ring, and you only go there once.

I don't think it looks half bad, plus having an "HD" version that's playable on modern systems is always nice, and this is coming from someone that has the entire GC collection and a CRT setup.
