No it's not since the game was not developed around non tank control movement. Each encounter with a zombie is great because of your limited movement, you can either try to maneuver around it, kill it (which then risks spawning a Crimson Head) or run head on to it and use a knife/taser. Without tank controls you have no reason but to just run around them, they completely break the game.
