Im playing it right now and just fought the leviathan, I was pretty hesitant at first but after you get on the road its fun. The NPCs are lame but the main party is my favorite yet, despite everyone saying they weren't "diverse" enough like FF7. Is it just that people want it to fail because its a big game? Or does it fall apart at some point?

Everything after Altissia is the biggest mess you'll see in a game. The game goes linear to increase story focus but everything happens off screen.

These were both very ambitious games that tried to "reboot" the franchise for a wider appeal but at the same time include older fans. Both games went through intense dev hell both games were rushed and both games came out unfinished as fuck with only about 30% of the promised features.

I actually really enjoy the game and am loving the July 2017 update with the Magitek armor. There's nothing I'd like more than to just have a nice chat about the game and its updates. The problem is you literally cannot carry on a discussion about this game on /v/.
