The plot is from the looks of it Haseo trying to save Ovan who's stuck in ice and it's set a year and a few months after Vol 3. Also including a new character.

I never would have ever predicted something like this could happen.

I'm over the moon that this is a thing in this day and age, I can't wait to play it.

They've always said they tried to go for a more shounen anime approach with G.U., making every character a bit more archetypal. I still think G.U. has great characters despite this, but you're right. The original series had more believable characters that felt grounded in a tangible offline reality. G.U. often had you forgetting about the fact that The World was an online game.
