Well it was originally developed for android and ios.
The point-and-click controls are sometimes described as janky or just unresponsive.
no unlockables (multiple endings are it)
general technical issues, leading to believing it just lacks polish.

The worst crime (for me) is that scissor walker doesn't randomly appear. It happens at scripted points which is bullshit.
B tier voice acting (but i mean what do you expect, i don't get why people expected anything else here)

It's a mobile game. Technically it's subpar in almost every regard; graphics, audio, controls, performance, everything. The story is not very interesting and is very poorly told with holes all over the place. Gameplay wise there are few actual puzzles, it's extremely linear and the "branching" nature of the game is mostly nonsensical. The branching does not occur naturally, it's occurs based on arbitrary "did you do this" sort of things. Ever heard people complain about how in Forbidden Siren you have to do seemingly random things for something else to occur much later in the game? It's along those lines but a lot of the time there is no real indication of what you should have done. As an example, there's a part in the game where you have the opportunity to radio for help. If you fail to do this it should have no bearing on the rest of the game apart from the fact that you don't get rescued when the story is ended, instead what happens is halfway through the game you are treated to a random game over for seemingly no reason. It's full of this sort of shit. It's a truly bad game.

It's the closest thing we'll get to a System Shock 3 until actual System Shock 3 comes out (and is hopefully not shit).
Gameplay is better, and allows for different builds and gameplay styles in a way that Bioshock really didn't. For instance, simple stealth is a thing and there is an enourmous amount of vertical traversal available.
Going on space walks makes you feel like a tiny insignificant insect, and is also a really inspired fast travel system.

He uses the larger vent system above the ones the player uses. All vent systems have an above layer that you can actually see your self while you're in the vents. I don't know if you can see the alien cross or not, because I'm too scared to try. I do know that the alien will follow you and catch you in the vents if you are in there for too long if he knows you're around.

I'm pretty sure the devs said the alien does not teleport around in his vent system, he's really moving around properly in there so you assume you could. Personally, I'm skeptical. Given the way he moves around seemingly freely on the motion tracker when he's in the vents, not like he's in ducts, I question whether there actually is a proper vent system he's moving around in or if not just one big open room up there with some openings into the player area dotted about. Shit, I wouldn't even be surprised if they are just flat out lying about no teleporting thing and the motion tracker movement is entirely fake. AI is all about illusion anyway, I wouldn't really begrudge them for lying.

Also, he only goes into your vent once you get to a certain part of the game, before then he can't touch you in there. Most of the alien behaviors are unlocked via progression.
