In the 3DS version it's classic "select all your party actions and watch them go". Basically the PS4 version gives you the opportunity to react immediately to enemy moves making it much easier to heal and do other things. You know what I really want next? A remake of III. But go full on and combine the trilogy. They can do something like Dragon Quest V where once you finish the arc for III it goes to I then II and then an all new one that sets up the events of XI. I can understand how some people don't "get" why DQ keeps to turn based gameplay and the classic music, but Square Enix has two series:

Dragon Quest, which is their classic series of traditional RPG

Final Fantasy where they experiment with all sorts of weird stuff and change it up for every new iteration.

So there definitely is a choice for people who don't like to play DQ.

I'm so conflicted. I love the art style and graphics for this game but the stiff animations and grating soundtrack kills the whole vibe. Don't mind the lack of voice acting but it'd be a nice addition to the western release with an orchestrated OST
