Useless options on consoles

If you leave any device on too long without rebooting it's going to run like shit. Bet you've got old computers that got inexplicably slow when really you just never turned that shit off.

I don't run poorly written software in the background that leaks memory, and you probably turn your console off after you use it anyway.

Has anyone ever had a proper hard crash with their PS4? I've had mine since March 2014 and it's totally fine so far - had a 360 that locked up and needed to be powered down at the plug socket a few times though.

The hard crashes aren't really common anymore since games then would take up almost all the resources and the OS just couldn't recover. PS4 has separate CPU for OS.

adjusting the clock/date for all four of these consoles. it only affected a handful of games and even if you wanted to check the time/date you couldnt even check while playing a game.

yeah, I assumed it might be that, but I played PS1 games quite a bit and having it on or off made no apparent difference to me and I could always use the sticks, but it might be my faulty memory, so I just assumed it was a feature that was somehow broken

Not him, but you can buy USB adaptors that allow you to connect it to the PC. I use to use one for emulation before I got a cheap DS3 quite a while ago.
