Steering wheel pedals and stick shift all work well, each of the cars in GT5 and 6 feels genuinely accurate with the amount of resistence the wheel changes based on different car models. The car models, physics and tracks have always been extremely accurate.

I'm glad console players have something comparable to Iracing. The physics are no where near where they need to be but its a console game. If it were as hardcore no one would play it. I think esports is a good fit for racing games, there's an established way of casting them that we use in the real world, its complex and involved, and it they can be played with or without a team. My favorite sim is going the esports route with ranked multiplayer and scheduled races.It means the game is gonna last longer and that makes me more inclined to support it. I don't understand why everyone is angry with the direction this game has taken. The only problem I can see (besides the fact the game is GT) is the lackluster car roster, but that can be bolstered through DLC.

I played GT6 with my wheel and pedals last year and had absolutely no problem with it. No assists or anything. Its not a simulator and thats fine. Rfactor, Automobalista, and Iracing are sims. GT and Forza are simcade, there's nothing wrong with that, just the way it is. Its not the worlds most realistic driving simulator and it wasn't meant to be. AI races in GT games have always been next to worthless so I won't miss that element of the career mode. I'm sure you can still set up single-player races if you want to (you could in the beta at least). But between the license tests, photo mode and painting, there's still a fuckload to keep me busy if I don't feel like e-sporting it up online.

As someone who has owned about a half dozen wheels, from an old MS Sidewinder to an ActLabs, several Logitechs and a T500RS, I would say no.

Having any ffb wheel is better than not, and the upgrades are marginal after that. T150 is about the best value out and while the pedals suck (they function fine but they're soft and floppy) you can upgrade them without having to replace everything all at once.

It does use a bulky fastening system though.

Depends on the game but you definitely get plenty of feedback. I don't know that I would say it's like real life because I can't say I've ever routinely driven my car on the limit.

You can almost always tell when the tire is at it's limit though, and that's the main force you are concerned with. It will probably take time to get used to though. Where it really shines is go-karts. I don't know if they will be in GT Sport but in GT5 and 6, people I'd race against that used pads found those things nearly impossible to drive. Me, on the other hand, they were probably my favorite cars to race in those games.
