Turned out to have one of the best story I've experienced in a videogame even though it was butchered on the psp release. I loved all the characters and it has an actual endearing and interesting romance plot.

I became a huge fan of this series afterwards and got super hyped up for the new DS game.

They're nothing alike and have nothing to do with one another. The Legend of Legacy is basically a bad SaGa game. Stella Glow is an srpg.

It's an SRPG, the story is nothing amazing but it's competently told with a few really nice twist and really memorable characters. Also it has your cute girls singing jpop songs for powerful field effects as a gameplay mechanic. My only real complaint is that the gameplay is a bit on the slow side, but it's still an enjoyable game. Don't listen to the girl who tells you that you can save everyone, she's a fucking liar
I really wanted to like Legend of Legacy but it just felt way too barren and barebones.

Its got a eng translation. Its like a visual novel with srpg battles. The sequels were localized. I think there is an anime too. Not sure.

Linda3, Japanese only release but the fan translation is finally picking up again and resuming. Had a pretty distinct premise of filling a Noah's Ark while dealing with some batshit personal story.

to put it simply, mediocre gameplay with good story telling. The game seems to have a childish outlook but the story takes itself more seriously than it appears. The characters are probably the best part, they're all great and likeable. Story gets very emotional at certain parts which really makes you feel for the characters and helps you appreciate the plot a lot more. Despite it being relatively simple the plot delivers itself really well, its kinda like watching an old 90s anime.

The best experience is to play the originals in ps1 and ps2 but the condensed verison in psp that has both games in one is a solid option and its the only thing us english speakers got other than the ds game (which wasn't as good).

As far as gameplay goes, its random encounters and grid based combat but theres not much strategy to anything other than use your highest powered attack and heal. Sometimes aoe attacks come into play as well.
