It's pretty simple compared to other strategy games, but for an Ubisoft title this actually looks good. The visuals actually look nice, the music is great, the game is brought to life with Mario and Rabbids fun, and everything about this blows out any other recent Ubisoft title.

I played it at Comic-Con this year. They let us play a full good twenty minutes, went through some combat, did some weapon upgrading, got to use abilities in different encounter scenarios, etc.

I'll say that the combat feels really good as a sort of melding between certain traditional tactile elements that come from platforming games and the larger components that come from X-com. It feels smart and fun, and I like the setting over the gritty stuff of similar games.

The one thing that wasn't as engaging were the "exploration parts, which just seemed really basic. I think they're necessary because you need some other component to break up the encounters, but my hope is that they get slightly more involved than simply navigating a play-field or maze.

PS4 launched in November, Last of Us remastered wasn't until June, GTAV a full year after launch in November, Bloodborne wasn't until March the year after.
