The main point is that they gutted the roster because of jewish tricks and put in marvel cinematic universe characters to promote the new movies. Literally no one asked for Captain Marvel. The main posters for previous games had Wolverine vs Ryu at the front but the Xmen are gone and replaced with shitty characters with functions.

Thing is, MvC3 "took" characters because they transitioned from 2D to 3D, with most Capcom characters and as far as I can tell all of the Marvel characters made from the ground up.

In the case of MvC3, they were unable to pull an MvC2 because the 2D assets couldn't be fucking used. They had to drop characters, but made up for it with tons of great new ones. With MvCI they actually make like MvC2 and recycle tons of previous characters (and actually add a multitude of new ones), yet for some reason we drop them instead--when, again, THEY ACTUALLY HAVE ASSETS THAT CAN BE RECYCLED UNLIKE FROM 2 TO 3. Hell, even if we made an allowance that the X-Men and F4 would necessitate cuts on each side, there are still characters missing for no apparent reason.

This is the question that needs to be blasted in Capcom's ears and sound throughout their offices.

The ONLY reason people will move is because Capcom will FORCE them to, by replacing 3 with Infinite at EVO, basically brute forcing people to eventually come around to it by being forced to play it competitively to maintain your FGC career. And the fans will know and be aware of all of this and just allow it to happen, rather than making Capcom aware. Marvel's all about the MCU these days, going so far as to blacklist and shun most of their popular legacy characters just because the head of their merchandising/entertainment division (seen on the left in pic related) is some bitter old fuck who's pissy that Fox has the movie rights to X-Men/FF. And Capcom's pretty much a carcass of a company who just doesn't have the budget or resources to do big AAA games anymore (outside of stuff like MH World).

In my opinion the gameplay seems to be shaping up to be pretty fun, at least. Plus the sound mixing has gotten way better, some voice lines were swapped out for better ones, and more character themes have been added, it feels like way less of a work-in-progress compared to the shitty reveals and story demo.
