Physical/magical split is almost universally hated by everyone who's played the EA. It discourages hybrid builds, can make one of your characters useless if he's the only physical/magic on the team, encourages all physical or all magical teams, and leads to silly situations where an enemy can be at 1 HP but your mage can't kill him because he still has all his magic armor.

There's some other flaws like enemies having fuckloads more armor than you, and class balance problems (Rogue is OP as fuck), but these can be fixed. The physical/magical split is too fundamental to be fixed and I'm afraid it'll only get worse as the game goes on.
