No, it's very different from a normal Fire Emblem so I wouldn't recommend playing it until you get a feel for what the series is like.

I enjoyed it

Played on difficult, none of my units died (or stayed dead, rather)

Felt pretty good, final battle was surprisingly tougher than everything else which is rare for a Nintendo game.

I couldn't beat that last necromancer guy, I just dodged and tanked hits while attacking the final boss.

I'm glad they kept the "shield unburden, leaping stab" from the original game. Shit was kino.
