The weapon pool is too large to maintain the original sense of balance, the trading economy is over saturated with insanely rare items with no demand, metal had become useless, and the cosmetics have gotten completely out of hand.

Long term, over saturation of the cosmetics market and scrap, as well as an attempt to push more CSGO like weapon skins system?

Short term? An attempt to complete with overwatch's competitive scene, which is dying fast as fuck regardless since asians don't care about shooters and westerners don't like this fucking MOBA shooter hybrid shit, which everyone hated and panned since no one fucking plays TF2 for competitive play.

Oh fuck off, I'm so tired of this meme. Since the release day TF2 had a class that can oneshot every other character in his line of sight with a hitscan rifle. But when they added a weapon that can eat 10% of some retarded healslut's uber if she can't avoid a slowly moving projectile, that's where you draw the line. It's okay if there are 2 classes that directly counter scout, but if you give him a tool to move faster and hit harder at the cost of being a glass cannon, that's where the fun ends. Whiny bitches like you are probably the reason we haven't seen new weapons added in 2,5 years which made everybody so bored that they either left for Overwatch or resorted to retarded gimmicky modes like 1000x or vs Furry Saxton Pony Error Sign.

Literally all they had to do was touch up old maps, make competitive versions of them etc, like community mappers did.
If that's too hard, they just had to improve socialising features in-game like enabling spinning up servers with configs out of dedicated servers, so e.g. you can take a competitive mode server and throw up ETF2L's ruleset on demand, while playing matchmaking.

If you have a community of friends who agree on something, you could set up a communities thing like fucking Mario Kart 8 did and avoid the issue of reserving slots or splitting players across two or three 24 slot servers.

Autobalance is resolved through this system in favour of just linking multiple servers together and scaling accordingly, even as a feature for server browser exclusive servers that admins can opt for.

Most importantly all they really had to do was look at competitive community and ask "uh why y'all niggas never ever use engy?"

There's plenty but most of it is just an advanced form of leaving it the fuck alone.

Do you imply that ubersaw is OP? Because amputator is much better in pubs where self-sustain is more important than ubers (at least it was that way before MYM's silent nerf, now it's meh) and vita-saw is so much better in competetive that they had to ban it. Solemn Vow is kinda OK. They could just make Solemn Vow a reskin, give its property to bonesaw, buff amputator back, rework vita-saw so it won't be banned in the environment it's created for and call it a day.
